OK, so after a talk with mark today we realised how poor the range of E-cards is, even from big company like hallmark. here is a couple of websites where The standard is well, rubbish!
but i did find a few that i would actually send to someone.
overall i am pleased with this project and i think my animations all work effectively. my favourite is the Rotoscoped video of singing on the rain. and my least favourite has to be the fisherman animation as i really struggled to do the cut out animation.
what i can take away from this project is that rotoscoping is hard, cut out animation is hard, and its hard to tell a story or portray a narrative in 10-20 seconds. these projects have reinforced my feelings that 2d/hand drawn animation is not for me.
this animation is a more developed variant of the video below. in this one i decided to use only one weather logo. i think this one works better visually and gives a better visualisation of the weather at any given time. i particularly like the transition between weathers. i used photoshop to create the transitions as i am not very familiar with flash and i think i produce better results in photoshop. if i was to go back and change anything it would be the moon and the stars, i think the moon is a weird shape and the stars don’t twinkle like i wanted them to.
